I finally got around to getting the roof on my bus fixed.. it only took two years to get off my ass and do it. Now it is done and it looks great! The top is so smooth.. it looks like glass.. or a piece of candy. Thanks to Garry at Werke 1. He knows his stuff. That is Barry’s single cab on the right. Original paint, original hoops.. looks really nice.

How smart is this idea. I’d love one of these for my bus. Only drawback.. I’m not sure I could hear the stereo in my bus??

So I’m out in Langley, visiting my friend Chris. He has a bunch of parts that I was picking up.. some funky green metal and a deck lid for the oval.. Anyway it was my first chance tro see his new garage. Wow! Talk about a 2 car garage. Chris has a lot of VWs in there as well as a brand new lift. So as I’m looking at the mango kombi and his 56’ hardtop beetle I notice 1 of the 3 pick-ups he has. Not the green 57’, I was bugging him to sell it to me, but the original paint 66’ single cab. It looks pretty good. Great gates, minimal rust.. a little around the back apron, some seam surface rust and a little in the treasure chest, but otherwise pretty nice. It needs a motor rebuilt and rear bumper as well as new rear arches on both sides, but other than that it is close to being complete and ready to roll.

Lenny’s doing a mighty fine job in his shop. I saw a fantastic set of interior panels for my 23 window and I think they were asking $1500 complete.. not too bad considering the work involved, and well they would only improve the look of my bus by about 400%

Check out my fancy new gas cap accessory from hungary! Looks good on my bus, where it is hanging out while my oval sits under a tarp.: ( One day I’ll get it going.
